Jesus Is God’s Only Son.

“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Jesus Died For Our Sins.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24

Jesus Rose From The Dead And Is Alive Today.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3

With these beliefs we then desire to:

This literally means to turn around.  Our commitment and desire is to turn our lives around, to begin living a life that moves toward God rather than away from God.  Acts 2:38 tells us that “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”

This simply means to confess with our voices that we are committing to a life that is centered around Christ and declare that we are now believers or followers of Jesus.  Romans 10:9 says “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Be Baptized

Baptism demonstrates your faith (belief) by symbolizing the death of your old life and the re-birth into a new life.  At Greenwood Christian, we practice baptism by immersion for the forgiveness of sins.  Acts 2:38 states, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Being a “member” of a church is similar to being a member of a family. We all desire to be part of a family that, despite differences, sticks together, supports one another, and loves one another. This is what Greenwood Christian Church strives to be – a family.

As Greenwood Christian Church family members, we …

Follow the Spiritual Leadership of Our Elders

Our Elders are selected based on the qualifications set out in the Bible (1 Timothy 3:1-7) as they lead us in Loving God, Loving Others, and Serving the World.

Love God . . .

by being a part of the Celebration of Worship each week where we hear God’s Word preached, share in the Lord’s Supper, and give a portion of our income to support God’s work being carried out through GCC.

Love Others . . .

by participating in a Growth Group to learn from and apply God’s Word together and build relationships with one another.

Serve the World . . .

by using our gifts, talents and abilities to minister through GCC to share God’s love with those around us, both near and far.

In these ways and others we encourage and hold one another accountable to growing our relationship with Jesus and becoming more and more like Him, and to living a life of integrity knowing that no matter where we are, everything we do and say is a witness of our life in Jesus.

We desire to be a community where people can come as they are, be who they are, and encounter God.  We would love to have you join our family on this journey.
